Compugen Inc. and Compugen Finance Inc. are honored for winning the Innovation Award at the York Region Sustainability Awards ceremony in Vaughan this week. Compugen and CFI jointly received the Innovation Award on behalf of the Region by Toby Heaps, Co-Founder, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Corporate Knights Inc. This award recognizes organizations that use clean advanced technologies and sustainability ideas through investments in an investment factory or operation. Over a hundred business and community leaders have come together to network and recognize the successes of climate action by businesses in York Region over the past year.
The quote reads: "In addition to a number of internal process improvements such as telework, Compugen and Compugen Finance provided the first carbon credit for IT assets and launched a proactive action planning program "
Compugen Finance's Green4Good program offers Canadian businesses an effective way to resolve end-of-life IT asset disposal issues. Thanks to the reuse and recycling of technologies, the value earned allows companies to contribute to charitable works, buy new equipment or finance a social program in which they can participate. Today, more than 1,600,000 IT workers have been diverted from landfills with more than 155 charities supported along the way.
