Organizations across all sectors have experienced rapid changes in recent years; namely, the move to hybrid work. Hybrid work, with its many benefits, has introduced a few challenges as well. Maintaining personal connection in the workplace and ensuring consistent productivity are two that come to mind. Luckily, with the right technology at play, companies are able to move more seamlessly into this next era of work.

How Microsoft is Paving the Way to the Future of Work

Microsoft was among the first to recognize the changing nature of work and the need for powerful collaboration tools to support a hybrid workforce. Surface is proof of that commitment offering devices that are known for their human-centric designs, advanced features, customized functionality, and superior performance. These devices have empowered users with the freedom to work, create, and innovate from anywhere.

Microsoft Surface devices are part of a larger corporate commitment to sustainability as they are built with integrity and designed to reduce carbon impact over the course of their lifecycle.

Furthermore, Surface devices are versatile. With accessories like Surface adaptive kits and 3D printed pens, there are plenty of opportunities to maximize the value on a Surface investment—regardless of skill level.

3 Key Benefits to Surface + Microsoft 365

A Powerful Approach to Productivity

Integrating Surface with Microsoft 365 lets you and your team work at full capacity. Here's how:

  • Attend fewer meetings thanks to recaps, summaries, transcripts, and videos that are automatically generated by tools such as Microsoft Teams.

  • Rewire creative workflows and stay up-to-date with Loop components.

  • Use AI features to enhance video conferencing, i.e., background noise cancellation, translation, and camera effects.

  • Streamline business workflows using collaborative apps.

  • Engage employees across the organization and beyond.

A Proactive Approach to Security

As cyberattacks continue to rise, Microsoft is proactive about protecting users by providing Windows Security, a free built-in antivirus program.

There are extra layers of security protection built into Surface devices to ensure protection at every juncture—in the cloud, or at the operating system level.

In fact, some of our mid-market customers using Surface devices have reported a reduction in attempted attacks by 34%.

Another aspect worth noting is the ability to defend against threats across all endpoints, thanks to Microsoft Defender. With Microsoft Defender, you get security across all platforms, stop ransomware, malware, and other threats, harden your device, and enable device-based conditional access.

A Modern Approach to Device Deployment

Thanks to recent developments, you no longer have to go through the long and frustrating process of setting up a new device in a workstation. The days of ethernet cables, USB sticks, creating custom images, and installing applications when deploying new devices are (thankfully) behind us.

Device deployment is simplified and modernized through Windows Autopilot. Once your organization decides it wants a new device, a tailored solution for your organization is built. You can then create autopilot deployment profiles in Endpoint Manager through Azure AD and Intune. The device is then directly shipped to the user, who then only needs to simply log in. The user's profile and necessary apps and policies are automatically deployed via Azure AD and Intune. That's it; the device is set up and ready for use.

In the event the user decides to leave the organization, the device can be reprovisioned for future users through Autopilot Reset. If the device reaches its end of life, it is de-provisioned and leaves the organization.
