On December 14, 2023, Compugen was honoured to receive the Employer Excellence Award from Npower Canada celebrating our commitment to supporting Npower graduates find meaningful and sustainable employment.

Since the beginning of our partnership together in 2017, more than 88 Npower graduates have secured employment with Compugen and joined our team. Compugen was recognized during Npower Canada’s December National Graduation Ceremony where they gather to celebrate the effort and accomplishments of the hundreds of graduates from their Junior IT Analyst and Junior Data Analyst programs.

Npower Canada is a national nonprofit with a mission to create pathways to economic prosperity for Canada’s underserved youth and adults by launching them into meaningful and sustainable digital careers. They provide no-cost employment training programs to a diverse pool of talent in Canada; currently 82% of their alumni come from racialized communities, 56% are new Canadians, and 11% self-identify as a person with a disability.

Npower Canada bridges the gap between non-traditional and diverse job seekers and employers like Compugen hiring IT talent.

I’d like to express my gratitude to Npower Canada for recognizing Compugen with this Employer Excellent Award – we are truly honored,” said Susan Oliver, Senior Director, People and Culture at Compugen. “We feel so fortunate to have built this partnership with Npower, and to be part of the excellent work they do to give their students a second chance at a new career. There is a very rich pool of talent in Canada that, if you don’t get creative, you might miss out on.”

Oliver continued, “Npower’s students and graduates are an incredibly motivated pool of talent, that Npower helps grow and learn through very comprehensive programs that cover not only IT and technical skills, but also the life and professional skills of resume writing, interviewing, networking, corporate citizenship, and more—as well as mentorship through the high-tech community from companies like Microsoft and IBM.”

Compugen also sits on Npower’s Industry Council to offer support for their programs, as well as provide mentoring events and workshops in addition to employment opportunities.

As one of the country’s most established IT companies, we aim to leverage technology to enable digital prosperity for all. We believe, to our core, that technology is the conduit, and our people are the connection. We value your expertise, your passion for the goal, and contribution to helping our customers realize new possibilities.
